Overview
This bounded longitudinal case study examines how initiative, authority, interpretation, and adoption are distributed across human and AI roles in sustained research collaboration.
Drawing on historical interaction records and contemporaneous research artifacts, the study documents how participants examined their own research apparatus and distinguishes such infrastructural inquiry from observable changes in working procedures.
The paper contributes a provenance-sensitive account of distributed initiative and participant-performed infrastructural inversion, without claiming a general mechanism of autonomous human–AI system evolution.
